Old Courthouse Theatre To Present Reading of THE NORMAL HEART, 7/15

By:

Old Courthouse Theater has announced a reading of THE NORMAL HEART on July 15 at 4:00 PM. The reading will be directed by Jonathan M. Ewart.

The story of a city in denial, THE NORMAL HEART unfolds like a real-life political thrilleras a tight-knit group of friends refuses to let doctors, politicians and the press bury the truth of an unspoken epidemic behind a wall of silence. A quarter-century after it was written, this outrageous, unflinching, and totally unforgettable look at the sexual politics of New York during the AIDS crisis remains one of the theatre’s most powerful evenings ever. The Normal Heart follows Ned Weeks, a gay activist enraged by the indifference of public officials and the gay community. While trying to save the world from itself, he confronts the personal toils of AIDS. It won the 2011 Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Play.

The cast includes: Jonathan M Ewart, Scott Miller, Iesha Hoffman, Peter Smeal, Hal Houston, Jimmy Chrismon, Robert Nipper, Zach Tarlton, Mike Farmer.

Admission to the reading of THE NORMAL HEART are free, though recommended for adult audiences only.
