CharlotteNext Presents 'The Authentic Life of Billy The Kid' 5/18-28
By: Kelsey Denette
Pat Garrett was one of the best known heroes of the Old West. He was known all over the country as the man who shot Billy the Kid. Now, many years after the famous deed, Garrett lives alone with his memories. His fame has faded and he never managed to parlay it into the fortune he'd hoped. He is visited in his one room shack by Ash Upson, the man who wrote the dime novel that immortalized Billy and Garrett. Upson brings with him a man who he claims is the real Billy the Kid, now middle-aged and very much alive. Is this man really The Kid? And if he is, then who is Pat Garrett?
A sometimes funny, sometimes chilling look at the relationship between perception & identity, and the lengths to which some will go to protect their own.
