In Padua, Baptista is a wealthy gentleman with two daughters. The youngest, ‘mild’ Bianca, has many suitors, including Hortensio and Gremio. Her older sister Katherina, or Kate, seems to terrify men, and no one wants to marry her. Baptista insists that Bianca cannot marry until Katherina is married, so Gremio and Hortensio agree to try to find a husband for Katherina.
Lucenctio has just arrived in Padua and overhears this conversation about Baptista’s daughters. He immediately falls in love with Bianca. To spend time with her, he disguises himself as a Latin tutor and goes to work in Baptista’s house while his servant, Tranio, pretends to be Lucentio. Old Gremio believes that the tutor will woo Bianca on his behalf. Horentsio also disguises himself as a music teacher to sneak past Baptista’s rules. Both Gremio and Hortensio are dismayed to discover yet another rival in Lucentio (Tranio).
Petruchio is in town looking for a rich wife to marry. He is not put off by tales of Katherina’s independence. After they have met, Baptista agrees to the marriage with a huge dowry attached if Petruchio can “tame” her.
Tranio, still disguised as Lucentio, asks Baptista if he can marry Bianca now that her sister is married. Baptista agrees as long as “Lucentio’s” father will agree to a large financial arrangement for Bianca. Tranio must now find a fake father for his fake Lucentio.
Meanwhile, Bianca has fallen in love with the real Lucentio, so Hortensio decides to marry a wealthy widow. Petruchio marries Katherina and takes her off to his country house, where he proceeds to “tame” her by depriving her of sleep and food and continually contradicting her. Hortensio goes to Petruchio’s house to learn how to tame a wife.
Tranio finds a merchant from out of town to play the part of Lucentio’s father. When his real father, Vincentio, arrives in Padua to discover that his real son has gotten secretly married to Bianca, everyone reveals their true identities.
Believing he has tamed his “shrew,” Petruchio takes Katherina back to Padua. No one is ready to believe that Katherina has changed. The newly married Lucentio and Hortensio each bet a hundred crowns that Katherina is the least obedient of the new wives. While the other women refuse to do what their husbands say, Katherina does and Petruchio wins the bet.

Katherina (Kate)
LTM has always held a special place in Debi's heart, for they were the first theater to give her a chance 9 years ago. You may remember her from SHENANDOAH THE MUSICAL, DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE, BLACK COMEDY, TINY TIM'S CHRISTMAS CAROL (2019), CANNIBAL THE MUSICAL, REEFER MADNESS, and LOST IN YONKERS where she played Bella. Over the past five years, Debi was roaming the shire of Mount Hope as a cast member for the PA Renaissance Faire, and also provided entertainment for murder mysteries at the Mount Hope Mansion. She is incredibly excited to be performing in her first Shakespearean production. She's grateful to her family and friends for their support. She'd like to especially extend her gratitude to the director, staff, and cast members for their encouragement and for believing in her. But most of all, Debi thanks Fred for all of his support and running lines with her because, "Shakespeare is, like, really hard," quoth she.
ANDI LEE CARTER
Petruchio
Andi loves to perform, and though new to the area, he has already been seen last fall as Angie the Ox in GUYS AND DOLLS at Theatre Harrisburg. He sings Tenor 1 in Harrisburg Gay Men’s Chorus, and he will be performing as Gastone in LA TRAVIATA this fall with Center Stage Opera. Some of his favorite roles of all time include Titania in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, Laertes in HAMLET, Kate in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, Narrator in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Fräulein Schneider in CABARET, Miss Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS, Baroness Schraeder in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Widow Corney in OLIVER!, Ado Annie in OKLAHOMA!, and Waiter at the Life Cafe in RENT. He has also starred in some original play reading workshops in NYC as Lee in BREAKDOWN by Thomas Dieter and Hamlet in GERTRUDE by Erin Moughon-Smith. Thanks to the cast for all your amazing work. I’m proud to share the stage with you all!
MEGAN HARBERT
Bianca
Megan is excited to return to the stage for her second production with Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg. She was most recently seen in the ensemble and as Flashback Lucy in SWEENEY TODD. Favorite roles include Viola (TWELFTH NIGHT), Essie Carmichael (YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU), Margot (LEGALLY BLONDE), Topsy/Wife (THE KING AND I), and the Ghost of Christmas Past (A CHRISTMAS CAROL). She has also appeared in the ensembles of LES MISÉRABLES, OKLAHOMA!, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and CATS. She dedicates these performances to the cast and crew of SWEENEY TODD for welcoming her back to the stage with such kindness and encouragement. Here's to pie, friendship, and "cut, cut, cadougan!"
MATTHEW WILSON MARTIN
Lucentio
Matthew is a multi award-winning film actor who returned to the stage in 2023. Since then, he has appeared in THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Herr Zeller), WHITE CHRISTMAS (Ralph Sheldrake), THE MUSIC MAN (Constable Locke), and PINKALICIOUS (Mr. Pinkerton) with Keystone Theatrics at the Playhouse at Allenberry; A KILLER NIGHT AT CLUB 85 (Lane Gold, twice) and GHOSTED (Edward Houlstone) with Sterling Productions; and FOREVER PLAID (Jinx), ’TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (Uncle Brierly/Sir Guy), and most recently DEATH OF A SALESMAN (Biff) at Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg. He is also a single father who enjoys serving the community through committees and elected offices. Matthew is sincerely grateful to the cast, production team, and audience members whose time, talent, and support make live theatre possible, and he is thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such a wonderful theatre community. Above all, he gives glory to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
DUFFY BATZER
Tranio
Duffy is a Central Pennsylvanian, born and bred. From the Shakespeare troupe at Carlisle High School to No Refund Theater at Penn State to a variety of community theaters in the area, she has always enjoyed being part of a theater family. She is one of those insane people who loves teaching middle schoolers as a librarian in Carlisle. Off duty she spends time with her husband, John, their kids, Coltrane and Leila, and too many pets.
Albert Baker
Baptista
Albert is thrilled to be back on the LTM stage after a 24 year hiatus. He would like to dedicate this production to the cast and crew of LTM's production of GODSPELL performed 40 years ago this July and especially to remember the contributions of its music director of GODSPELL and many, many other shows in the Harrisburg theater community, Marc Farrell, actor, singer, music director, teacher and friend! You are greatly missed! I'll see you on the other side!
GABRIEL CASSATA
Hortensio
Gabriel is excited to be making his LTM debut in SHREW. His recent roles include Westmorland in Lancaster Shakespeare Theatre's HENRY IV PART 1 and as Lepidus in ANTONY & CLEOPATRA. Gabriel's previous roles include playing King Jean in Gamut’s EDWARD III, Arnold Needham in NO SEX PLEASE, WE’RE BRITISH at Oyster Mill Playhouse and Sir Leigh Teabing in Theatre Harrisburg's production of THE DA VINCI CODE as well as the Narrator in the staged reading of A.A. Milne's, THE DOVER ROAD and Merriman in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at Lebanon Community Theatre. Gabriel is an award-winning artist and illustrator specializing in design and commercial illustration. Special thanks to his wife, Stephanie, and their son Emmett for their boundless enthusiasm and support.
ROBB PAPAPIETRO
Gremio
Robb is thrilled to be playing his first role at LTM as Gremio in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW! Some of his previous credits include Mr. Bundles/Senator/Judge Brandeis in ANNIE, Weisel/Stage Manager/Mr. Jacoby/Mayor in NEWSIES, and Mordcha the Innkeeper in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at Theater Harrisburg and Senator Wingwah in BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE in Oyster Mill Playhouse. Robb is a retired US Air Force MSgt with 30 years service and a retired Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employee. He sings Tenor 2 with the Harrisburg Gay Men's Chorus: A Queer & Gender-Expansive Choir and the Market Square Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Choir. He also tends bar part-time at 704 Lounge, Harrisburg. Robb would like to thank the cast and crew, and his friends and family for all of their love and constant support.
MACKENZIE HEIKEL

Mackenzie is so excited to be a part of this production. She has previously appeared in A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM as Helena, TINY TIM'S CHRISTMAS CAROL as Charlotte, and DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP? AS Str. Monica Marie. Outside of theatre, Mackenzie enjoys reading, baking, and skateboarding. Mackenzie would like to thank her family, friends, director, and boyfriend for their support.
ANDY ISAACS
Vincentio / Ensemble
Andy finished a production of LETTICE AND LOVAGE last month at Oyster Mill Playhouse where, pre-Covid, he had roles in such productions as FUNNY MONEY, DONE TO DEATH, THE HOLLOW, and SUPERIOR DONUTS. Recent stage credits here at LTM have included DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?, BROADWAY BOUND, ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, and SHAKESPEARE IN HOLLYWOOD. Andy is a retired newspaper copy editor. (Remember newspapers?) When not studying his lines he chips paint on his 130-year-old house in midtown Harrisburg and tries to keep his plants alive. He is an ardent traveler and collects foreign expletives.
ANNIE HART MILLER
Biondello / Tailor / Ensemble
Annie is so excited to be playing Biondello in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW! Some of her favorite credits include Ophelia/Alfred in ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD, Calliope/Brittania in ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, Audrey in LEADING LADIES at LTM, the Ensemble of PUFFS, a Puppeteer/ Crew member in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Keystone Theatrics, and Bystander/American in ASSASSINS a Conjuring Dancer in THE CRUCIBLE at Carlisle Theatre. Annie would like to thank the cast and crew, and her friends and family for all of their love and constant support. JANELLE FRENCH

Janelle is thrilled to make her Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg debut playing the Merchant and Widow. Janelle most recently appeared as the Housewife in Carlisle Theatre's production of ASSASSINS. Other favorite roles include the Nurse in ROMEO AND JULIET, Claire Ganz in RUMORS, Tom/Phyllis/Leslie in SYLVIA, and Miss Scarlet in CLUE. Janelle is thankful for the entire cast and crew who brought this show to life. She gives her love to Tim, Gabe, Max, her parents, and her friends for supporting her theatrical endeavors.
BOBBY ZACCANO
Voice of the Network / The Priest
In the fine tradition of Producer’s who appeared in their own show, Bobby Zaccano handled voice duties as requested by the Director. In the tradition of Stan Lee, I also have a brief cameo or, as they are known now, “An Easter Egg.” I was delighted to work with this cast and crew as we explored a new interpretation of a Shakespearian Classic and once again put excellence on the stage.

Andi Lee Carter
Director
Andi is a multihyphenate and recent transplant to Central PA. He loves Shakespeare and is excited to be directing a show that isn’t MIDSUMMER. He is a librettist, lyricist, playwright, screenwriter, and songwriter with an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was recently a finalist in Atlanta Opera’s 96-Hour Opera Project and a librettist fellow with American Opera Projects. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Fish Out of Water Productions, a cross-cultural theatre collective created in Beijing, China in 2008. As a founding board member of Musical Theatre Factory, he has seen them foster musical theatre artists who have gone on to win at the Tonys, Grammys, and Oscars. He has directed many musicals and original plays mostly in NYC. He produces and hosts a monthly cabaret in Manhattan for new musical theatre writers. He loves discussing all things sci-fi on his blog and podcast: www.scifimusicals.com. He’s very excited to be directing his first show at LTM and thanks the board and everyone here for welcoming him so warmly.
Bryden McCurdy
Assistant Director
Bryden is thrilled to be working behind the scenes as the Assistant Director for the first time. Last seen on stage at LTM as Jennie Garstecki in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, Bryden has loved learning while working with this amazing cast. She lives in Harrisburg with her husband Thad, her kid Adria and their five cats: Elphie, Pepper, Soup, Razzle-Dazzle, and Ashtray.
Alex E. Donley
Stage Manager
Alex is so excited to be back at LTM! This is their first time stage managing a production and they couldn’t have asked for a better cast and crew to work with. Despite this being their first time in the Stage Manager role, they are no stranger to both on stage and behind the scenes work. You may have seen them as Tiny Tim in TINY TIM’S CHRISTMAS CAROL here at LTM or Annas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR during their senior year at Capital Area School for the Arts. They’re an upcoming freshman at Millersville University and hope to continue with their love of theatre in college and beyond. Thanks to Andi, Bryden, Bobby, and Mandi for being the best crew ever, to the cast for all of their hard work, and to their mother and amazing family for always inspiring them to put excellence on stage. J'aime Elizabeth is honored to serve as the Intimacy Coordinator for THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. A longtime theatre artist both onstage and behind the scenes, favorite performance credits include THE GLASS MENAGERIE (Laura), MONSTERS! (Fear), MAMMA MIA! (Rosie), THE MISANTHROPE (Celia), and A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS (Lucy). As a theatre intimacy professional, J'aime works with performers and creative teams to foster consent-based, collaborative spaces where boundaries are respected and intimate storytelling can be approached with clarity and care. She believes intimacy work not only supports performer safety and agency, but also strengthens the storytelling by giving artists the tools and trust to fully engage in the work.
