Fresh Voices is an annual series of original devised performances created by first-year Moravian University/Touchstone Theatre Master of Fine Arts students, developed over six months under the guidance of the ensemble. This year's production, created by Jolie Lanning and Anisa Hosseini, is a triptych of works unified by themes of female empowerment, exploring the past, present, and future of womanhood. The program includes Hosseini's solo piece Introducing Ṭáhirih, centered on the Persian poet and women's rights advocate Ṭáhirih; Lanning's solo performance PERIOD., a performance art and video projection piece about young girls navigating puberty in the age of social media; and a collaborative piece featuring footage from their youth empowerment initiative In the Future, Girls Can.... The performance is recommended for audiences aged 13 and older.
