Yuja Wang and People of Earth at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts – Venetian Theater

GRAMMY-winning pianist Yuja Wang makes her Caramoor debut performing alongside Latin music supergroup People of Earth in their first public performance together and only East Coast concert of the summer. The program includes Leonard Bernstein's Mambo from West Side Story, works by Ernesto Lecuona and Arturo Márquez, and selections arranged for piano four-hands by Cuban piano phenom and music director Ahmed Alom. The concert closes with La Diáspora, a newly commissioned piano concerto written by Alom and dedicated to Wang, combining classical, jazz, and Latin American traditions. People of Earth features Raul Rios, Jesus Ricardo, Rubén Rengel, Ivan Llanes, and Gabriel Globus-Hoenich.
