Kentucky, written by Leah Nanako Winkler and directed by Michelle Chan, closes the Syracuse University Department of Drama's 2025/2026 season. The play follows Hiro, a self-made woman living in New York who returns to her estranged family in Kentucky when her born-again Christian sister decides to marry at twenty-two. Ellis Eunjin Honma leads the cast as Hiro, with Emily Kiyomi Gorin as Sophie, as identity, religion, and family collide in this coming-of-age story. Performances run April 24 through May 3 in the Storch Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex.
