Hudson Stage Company announces DIVAS 2012, featuring Amanda McBroom, Liz Callaway, Faith Prince and Jason Graae

GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER Amanda McBroom is a noted American cabaret singer and composer. She is most famous for writing "The Rose", which Bette Midler recorded for the film The Rose and which earned McBroom a Golden Globe. She has been called "...the greatest cabaret performer of her generation, an urban poet who writes like an angel and has a voice to match.” Her songs have been recorded by Leanne Rimes, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Anne Murray, Harry Belafonte, Betty Buckley, and The Manhattan Transfer but it is McBroom’s voice that is her best interpreter.

TONY WINNER Faith Prince joins DIVAS after many years of trying to get this incredible Broadway diva to join us! She is best known for her Tony Award winning performance as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. Other Broadway appearances include The Little Mermaid, A Catered Affair, Noises Off, and Bells Are Ringing. An array of TV credits include a series regular on Huff and Drop Dead Diva as well as Happy Endings, A Gifted Man, CSI, Mad Men, Spin City.

EMMY WINNER Liz Callaway returns as one of our favorite Divas. She is famous for providing the singing voices of many female characters in films, such as Anya in the Academy Award nominated Anastasia, Odette in The Swan Princess, and t Kiara in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. She has starred in numerous Broadway shows including Baby, Miss Saigon and Cats. She has also established a critically acclaimed career as a singer and recording artist, currently appearing with her sister, Ann Hampton Callaway, in their show, Boom!

Our Host for Divas is DRAMA DESK NOMINEE Jason Graae, who returns to as one of our favorite all-time hosts. Stephen Holden of The New York Times recently wrote, "...Mr. Graae emerges as an irresistible cut-up whose splendid voice is matched by mischievous charisma...." He has starred on Broadway in A Grand Night For Singing, Falsettos, Stardust", Snoopy!, Do Black Patent Leather Shows Really Reflect Up?. Off- Broadway shows include Forever Plaid", Olympus on My Mind, All in the Timing, Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (Drama Desk Nomination- Best Actor in a Musical)" and many more.
