Davidson Community Players Summer Camps

Davidson Community Players offers a summer camp program for young actors ages 4-16 in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. In 2026 the slate includes two-week performance intensives that produce full Junior musicals - Aladdin Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., The Wizard of Oz, Moana Jr., Descendants Jr., Mean Girls Jr., Guys and Dolls Jr. and Legally Blonde Jr. - culminating in a staged performance at the Armour Street Theatre with full lights, sound and costumes. Week-long full-day training camps cover filmmaking and Broadway dance styles, while half-day camps introduce younger children to theatre through themed weeks such as Princess, Under the Sea, Dinosaurs and Digging and Superheroes and Villains. Older campers can take improv, scene and monologue study, comedy or a Dungeons & Dragons camp run with Young Dragonslayers. Camps meet at the Armour Street Theatre, Cain Center for the Arts and Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

Registration is handled through Town of Davidson Parks and Recreation (filter programs by 'DCP'). Limited scholarships funded in part by the Arts & Science Council cover the full cost of camp on demonstrated financial need.
