Summer Vocal Insititute Musical Theater Intensive

The Summer Vocal Institute is a week-long vocal performance program run by the Hartt School Community Division at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, for high school singers ages 14 to 18. The 2026 session runs August 3-7. Students receive private voice lessons, repertoire coachings, group classes and masterclasses led by faculty of The Hartt School and the Hartt Community Division, and also take daily acting, movement and career-focused seminar-style classes. The program is designed for singers considering vocal performance as a college major, but is also intended to be valuable for any singer wanting experience with advanced vocal study. HCD's mission is to provide a learning environment for aspiring artists from PreK through adult, and it is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Association of Schools of Dance.
