Theatre summer camp in Rockville, MD
Adventure Theatre MTC Academy runs summer musical theatre programs in the Washington, D.C. area. The elementary Summer Musical Theatre Camp is a two-week, full-day, in-person camp at Glen Echo Park for rising grades 1-6 that culminates in an ensemble performance of a full youth-appropriate show for family and friends. Campers work with D.C.-area theatre professionals and teaching artists in daily rehearsals covering dancing, singing and acting, with props, costumes, music, movement and scene work; students are grouped with their peers and casting is at the director's discretion. For grades 7-12 the Academy offers a three-week Summer Musical Theatre Training Program focused on immersive performer training. Need-based scholarships are available and the theatre does not turn away students in need of financial assistance.
Elementary camp runs Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., for rising grades 1-6, at Glen Echo Park. Teen programming is a three-week Summer Musical Theatre Training Program for grades 7-12. A Counselor in Training program is open to teen volunteers.
