54 SINGS LERNER & LOEWE Will Come to 54 Below

Celebrate the partnership of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick “Fritz” Loewe at 54 Below on May 19th at 7pm with performances of songs from their most beloved musicals, including Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, Gigi, and Camelot, plus some rarities from their other collaborations. The centerpiece of the event will be a special 70th anniversary tribute to the team's greatest success, My Fair Lady, which opened on Broadway on March 15, 1956.

The cast of the show includes four Tony Award nominees — Meg Bussert and Martin Vidnovic (both of whom were nominated for the 1980 revival of Brigadoon),  Josie de Guzman (Guys and Dolls, West Side Story), and Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) — alongside Jay Aubrey Jones (Cats and How to Succeed… on Broadway), Tony Award honoree Gerard Alessandrini (Forbidden Broadway), Ben Jones (international concert and cabaret star), Michael Padgett (My Fair Lady at Saguaro City Music Theatre), and Megan Styrna (Charlotte Sweet at Amas Musical Theatre).

54 SINGS LERNER & LOEWE is produced, directed and hosted by Michael Portantiere, with Michael Lavine as musical director/pianist.  Tickets range in price from $25.00 to $102.00, and there is a $25 food/beverage minimum.

It was founded as a place for the Broadway community to celebrate not only the music of Broadway and the Great American Songbook, but also new material. One of the most in-demand venues in New York City, presenting more than 700 shows per year, the club features fine dining and superb scenic, lighting, and sound design. It gives Broadway fans an opportunity to see their favorite artists in a different way, deepening their understanding of their talent. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, and it is also a place for innovation in songwriting and performance.
