Entertainment fans will get front row access to television's biggest night, as the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced Yahoo! will be the official digital partner for red carpet and behind-the-scenes content surrounding the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. Yahoo! is the Television Academy's official online destination to live stream the red carpet and offer the Academy's Backstage LIVE companion program, as well as deliver exclusive streaming content after the live coast-to-coast television broadcast airing Sunday, September 22, 2013, on CBS.

Yahoo! is the first digital partner for the Television Academy outside of the broadcast networks. The partnership significantly expands the Emmy Awards' digital reach, with access to Yahoo!'s 700 million users worldwide. For Yahoo!, the Television Academy partnership is another opportunity to deliver innovative content and the highest quality entertainment experiences to its users.

The content will be showcased on a HUB within Yahoo! TV (http://tv.yahoo.com). Highlights of the partnership include:

o Live coverage leading up to and surrounding the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, beginning with the nominations announcements on July 18, and extending after the awards are given out on September 22. Yahoo! will stream live from the Red Carpet before the show, offer the Television Academy's Backstage LIVE coverage during the show, and report from the Governors Ball after the show.

o Editorial Content: Yahoo! will extensively cover all the events, news and highlights and will conduct profiles of the nominees, interviews with the key players, photo galleries, analysis of the vote, features on fashion and the best Emmy moments.

o In the months following the awards, Yahoo! will showcase a special series called "An Evening With ..." The series gives members and fans access to personal and candid discussions about hit television series featuring the creators and the stars of the show. Recent panel discussions include "Game of Thrones," "Revenge" and "The Walking Dead."

"As television viewing habits evolve and people are consuming content across multiple platforms, it is imperative that the Television Academy meet the demands of the public," said Maury McIntyre, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Vice President of Digital. "Yahoo! is the ideal digital partner with a reach unlike any other to bring the Primetime Emmy red carpet and Backstage LIVE - and all of the Academy's year round events - to television fans far and wide."

"Yahoo! has always been dedicated to providing the best awards show coverage, but this takes us to a whole new level," said Rich Cusick, Yahoo! VP and head of Entertainment. "Thanks to our partnership with the Television Academy, we'll be closer to the action, have more exclusives, and be able to offer the best online experience for Emmys fans."

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live coast-to-coast Sunday, September 22, 2013, on CBS and will originate from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. The awards will be executive produced by Ken Ehrlich and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris who will also serve as a producer.
