Susanne Daniels, MTV President of Programming, announced the second season pick-up today of "Are You The One?", the hit social experiment on modern love. The announcement comes as the first season of the series reaches its dramatic finale tonight at 11:00PM ET/PT and the remaining daters have one last shot at successfully finding their perfect match and possibly walk away with their share of the million dollar prize. On April 1 at 11:00PM ET/PT, the Season One reunion special will give viewers an update on which of these fools in love have stayed together, the stunning feuds that have surfaced since filming wrapped and a shocking proposal. Season two of "Are You The One?" will feature 20 new singles whisked away to another exciting location where they will immerse themselves in The Challenge of discovering who their perfect matches are. More details to be announced at a later date.
"Coming off ratings success from the first season, this social dating experiment continuously maintained strong numbers and developed an incredibly loyal fan base, proving there is an appetite for finding love. It is the #1 original series across all TV in its time period with young people ages 12-34," Daniels added.
In the season ender, airing tonight at 11:00PM ET/PT, the house must band together to strategize on how to use their last chance at finding their perfect matches and fulfill the hope of winning the million-dollar prize. Jacy finally confronts her feelings for Scali and John, as the rest of the house tries to solve the last remaining love triangle. The finale culminates a 10-week social experiment on modern love where 10 women and 10 men participated in a rigorous matchmaking process created to quantify compatibility. Experiencing the ups and downs of budding relationships each potential lover had to work to uncover the mystery of their perfect match's identity. With weekly tests of physical attraction, personality traits, and relationship history assessments, the singles have discovered that following their heart might feel right, but if they find that they are not a true match they are forced to start their search over - leading to tension and despair.
