THE NUT JOB LIVE & FRIENDS! to Have World Premiere in Montreal

Global performing arts Production Company Monlove joins forces with Redrover, the South Korean animation film creator to present the world premiere of The Nut Job Live & Friends!, an original live entertainment spectacular featuring 22 artists on stage, where the global animation film sensation The Nut Job meets some of the creative masterminds behind Cirque du Soleil.

Starring the beloved characters of The Nut Job franchise, this new musical comedy is great family fun and brings Surly Squirrel and his furry gang to life in a brand new story with dancing, singing, amazing acrobatics, original songs, magic, 3D animation, puppetry, new characters, comedy, and more.

World premiere performances of The Nut Job Live & Friends! will take place at the historic Olympia theatre in Montreal, from December 26 through 31, with six performances in French (December 26, 27, 29, and 30) and three in English (December 28, 29 and 31). It's a musical that's sure to delight audiences of all ages.

The first film of the series on which the show is based, The Nut Job, was the biggest box office opening ever for an independent animated film, earning more than $120.8 million worldwide. The original concept, book, music, and lyrics for The Nut Job Live & Friends! are from Monlove's Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson, the same creative team behind the smash hit Ice Age Live! A Mammoth Adventure, THE FAMILY show that sold millions of tickets worldwide.

Performances run Tuesday, December 26 at 7 PM (French); Wednesday, December 27 at 3 PM (French) and 7 PM (French); Thursday, December 28 at 3 PM (English); Friday, December 29 at 3 PM (French) and 7 PM (English); Saturday, December 30 at 3 PM (French) and 7 PM (French); and Sunday, December 31 at 11 AM (English) at L'Olympia de Montréal, 1004 Ste. Catherine Est, Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Founded in 2005 by Ella Louise Allaire, in partnership W.T. Martin Lord Ferguson, Quebec-based Monlove began by providing music production and composition services for large-scale shows (Cirque du Soleil's KÀ, Zed, and Alegria Arena). Ella Louise Allaire's musical creations have also been heard at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, on the Avatar film trailer, Dateline NBC, the Beijing Acrobatic Troupe of China's Magical Music Box, and the feature film: Journey to the Center of the Earth. Martin Lord Ferguson has produced more than 30 recordings and soundtracks for Cirque du Soleil, Stage Entertainment, Holiday on Ice and numerous recording artists and his work now encompasses theatre, large-format shows, advertising, television series, and feature films. The pair collaborated on the soundtrack for Cirque du Soleil's KÀ, which was named Best New Score of 2005 by TIMEmagazine.

Specializing in 3D stereoscopic technology, Redrover has maintained a close partnership with the Canadian animation studio ToonBox Entertainment to produce various animated features and television series over the last eight years, including the world's first 3D stereoscopic TV series Bolts & Blip, followed by the musical interstitial, The Beet Party. On January 17, 2014,The Nut Job, was released in North America, and had the biggest opening for an independent animated film of all time in the U.S, garnering over $25 million in its first weekend.
