Stella Blómkvist Grabs 8 Nominations For The Eddan Icelandic Academy Awards

The neo-noir crime drama series Stella Blómkvist, produced by the Icelandic production company Sagafilm, has picked up eight nominations for Eddan Icelandic Film and TV Academy Awards. Nominations include best scripted series, best TV series of 2017, and Heida Reed is nominated as best actress in a leading role for her portrayal of Stella Blómkvist. Other nominations include Gudni Hilmar Halldórsson and Gunnar B. Gudbjornsson for best editing Haukur Karlsson for production design, Eva Vala Gudjonsdottir for best costumes, Aslaug Drofn Sigurdardottir for best make up and the special effects team at Kontrast received a nod for best special effects.

Stella Blómkvist is distributed worldwide by RED ARROW Studios International and was released 9th February in Scandinavia on Viaplay.

Sagafilm projects picked up five further nominations: the Netflix Original Documentary Out of Thin Air, a story of a criminal investigation which goes out of hand is nominated for the best documentary of the year and best make up. Road to the Right Career, a Sagafilm original format, is nominated as best factual series, for best live TV producer two Sagafilm projects are competing for the top price, Jon Haukur Jensson for THE VOICE and Thor Freysson for Choirs of Iceland another original Sagafilm format.
