Stage Vet Fisher Stevens Joins ABC's 'Ugly Betty'

According to a report in TVGuide.com, Fisher Stevens will be joining the cast of ABC's hit series Ugly Betty.  Stevens will be playing the possibly recurring role of Betty's nasty new landlord, suggesting that Betty will be moving out of her family home and striking out on her own once again, despite her failed attempt at such last season. 

Stevens will be joining series regulars and theater vets America Ferrara, Vanessa Williams, Michael Urie, Ana Ortiz, Tony Plana, Daniel Eric Gold, and Judith Light, along with Eric Mabius, Becki Newton, and Mark Indelicato.

Ugly Betty, which follows one misfit's adventures in the world of high fashion magazine publishing, airs on ABC at 9:00pm EST.

Stevens has appeared on Broadway in Torch Song Trilogy, Brighton Beach Memoirs, and the Lincoln Center Theatre revival of Carousel. His Off-Broadway credits include Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell, The Exonerated, A Perfect Ganesh, Twefth Night, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Best known for his portrayals of Chuck Fishman on Early Edition, Eugene "The Plague" Belford in Hackers, and Ben Jabituya/Jahrvi in Short Circuit and Short Circuit 2, Fisher has appeared on television in Frasier, Friends, Law & Order, Key West, and Lost. He recently appeared on an episode of the TV show Numb3rs. He also played the part of murderer Alex Brady in the episode Columbo: Murder, Smoke and Shadows. He owns the film production company, GreeneStreet Films in New York City.
