Darren Stein is set to direct the indie film G.B.F. (Gay Best Friend), written by George Northy. Among the cast is Broadway actor Taylor Frey, who has appeared in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, South Pacific, Finian's Rainbow and the national tour of Hairspray.

Frey joins Megan Mullally, Natasha Lyonne, Rebecca Gayheart, Jonathan Silverman and Horatio Sanz, as well as Paul Iacono, Michael J. Willet, Andrea Bowen, Sasha Pieterse, Xosha Roquemore and Joanna Levesque (better known as the singer "JoJo").

The film is about two gay high school boys who realize that the only way to improve their social standing at school is to become gay best friends (GBFs) with the popular girls.

The film, produced by Richard Bever, Stephen Israel and Jennifer Levine, is filming in Los Angeles.

Frey also had a recent television stint on "Days of Our Lives".
