According to Deadline, Sony is currently developing a reboot to its 1997 teen slasher film I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, originally based upon the novel by Lois Duncan.

OCULUS' Mike Flanagan is adapting the proposed low-budget project and producing, alongside Neal Moritz. The studio is reportedly intent on casting unknowns for the parts.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER followed a group of friends who attempt to keep a deadly secret quiet, only to be stalked by serial killer intent on exposing the truth.

The film, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze, Jr. and more, grossed nearly $125 million, and lead into a sequel in 1998.
