As reported yesterday, Christian Bale has officially exited Sony Pictures' upcoming Steve Jobs biopic. Today, Deadline has confirmed the director Danny Boyle is strongly considering Michael Fassbender for the role.

Aaron Sorkin penned the script for the film which is being produced by Scott Rudin, Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon. It was set to begin production this winter. As was previously reported, Seth Rogen is in talks to take on the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

The script is reportedly divided into three acts that show JOBS as he prepares for upcoming presentations that will eventually change his life and the future of his company.

In yesterday's THR report, sources said that after much "deliberation and conflicting feelings", Bale came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to back out. The actor is the second A-list star to be offered the role. Leonardo DiCaprio was also said to be cast at one point in the film's journey.

Ashton Kutcher portrayed JOBS in last year's JOBS, considered a critical and commercial failure.
