JustJared.com is reporting that only one day after it was confirmed that last year's Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron would be returning in 2014, a source reveals that host Seth MacFarlane has also been invited back to take the helm of next year's ceremony.

"After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again," sources close to the comedian tell Just Jared exclusively. "He's not sure if he's going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks."

The Family Guy creator caused a stir in January with some of the controversial jokes he made throughout the Oscars. However, ratings for the 2013 ABC broadcast were up significantly over the year before with 40.3 million viewers tuning in.

Asked in February if he would consider returning as host of the ceremony, MacFarlane gave an emphatic "No way." The comedian's plate has been extremely full in recent months with the box office smash 'Ted' as well as his upcoming film, A Million Ways To Die In The West - in which stars, directs and co-wrote as well as an anticipated Ted sequel.
