GSN's debut last night of body painting competition series, SKIN WARS, hosted by actress Rebecca Romijn, became the network's second-most watched original series premiere in its history, delivering approximately 700,000 viewers based on overnight ratings.
SKIN WARS delivered 128K W25-54, 124K W18-49, 240K P25-54, 252K P18-49 and 697K Total Viewers. Versus the prior four weeks in the time period, (Family Feud with Steve Harvey), Skin Wars was up +64% W25-54, +68% W18-49, +98% P25-54, +150% P18-49, +160% M25-54, +370% M18-49 and +43% Total Viewers. When compared to average network viewership in the 9-10pm time period year-to-date, Skin Wars was up 39% in W25-54, 69% in W18-49 and 52% in Total Viewers. It was also the most-watched telecast for an original series this year among P18-49. The series represents GSN's first foray into reality competition programming. Skin WarS is an hour-long competition show that seeks to find the most skillful, accomplished and versatile body painters in the country. The eight-episode series also marks television's first-ever body painting competition show. Hosted by actress Rebecca Romijn, the show also boasts an impressive panel of judges, including legendary entertainer and expert in transformation, RuPaul, and body painting icons Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina. The winner of the competition will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a one-year supply of paint and will be the featured guest artist at IMATS, the premiere body painting trade show in New York City.Videos
