Ratings for ABC's NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE Up for 2nd Straight Year

ABC's annual broadcast of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve Part 1" pulled in an average audience of 22.2 million Total Viewers and delivered an impressive 7.7 rating, 26 share among Adults 18-49 (9.7 million).

In viewers and young adults, "New Year's Rockin' Eve" finished as ABC's 2nd-largest special of the year after the "Academy Awards." In fact with Adults 18-49, it was the Net's top non-sports telecast since February with the 2012 "Oscars" - since 2/26/12.

ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve - Part 1" topped The Combined audiences of NBC's "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly - Late Night" and Fox's "New Year's Eve Live '12" by 57% in Total Viewers (22.2 million vs. 14.1million - NBC and FOX combined) and 64% in Adults 18-49 (9.7 million vs. 5.9 million).

Building for the 2nd straight year, ABC's "New Year's Rockin' Eve - Part 1" grew in Adults 18-34 (+5% - 6.3/26 vs. 6.0/26 rating) and Adults 18-49 (+4% - 7.7/26 vs. 7.4/26), hitting 11-year highs in both key young adult demos - since 12/31/01.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve - Part 2" (1:09-2:07 a.m.):
Although airing in the late time period, the second segment of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest - Part 2" earned an average audience of 6.4 million Total Viewers and a 2.5 rating, 12 share in Adults 18-49 (3.1 million).

Rising year to year by 8% in Total Viewers (6.4 million vs. 5.9 million) and by 9% in Adults 18-49 (2.5/12 vs. 2.3/12), the final segment of the show attracted its biggest audience in 11 years and highest young adult rating in 10 years - since 12/31/01 and 12/31/02, respectively.
