Long-time AMERICAN IDOL judge Randy Jackson appeared on the final hour of NBC's 'Today' show this morning. While the main focus of his visit was to discuss diabetes, Today hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb pressed him about rumors that he was thinking of leaving his post on the Idol judging panel. "Listen, it's an amazing show," he hedged. "My friend Mariah Carey is there. I think she's going to bring a lot of excitement to it. Let's see what happens."

Jackson also chose to evade persistent rumors that pop star Nick Minaj would be joining the show's 12th season as a judge. Said Jackson, "I don't know who else has been confirmed yet. But Mariah is there!"

Jackson is best known as a judge on American Idol and is an executive producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. He has won a Grammy Award as a producer.
