Broadway veteran, Claire Danes of Homeland won the Emmy for OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES.

Also nominated in her category were Connie Britton (Nashville), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), Kerry Washington (Scandal), and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

Check out her acceptance speech below.

CLAIRE DANES: Wow. Thank you. Thank you. I think all actors know how indebted we are to our writers, especially in television. And we happen to have one of the most experienced, intrepid team of writers in the business, led by the amazing Alex Gansa.

(Applause.)

But I have to take this moment to acknowledge our most treasured, one of our very most treasured writers, Henry Bromell, who won tonight. And he passed away in March, and we just love him so much. He was a brilliant person and so kind and we think of him every day as we continue to work on the show that he helped define. So, Henry.

I want to thank our cast, of course, Damian and Mandy and Morena. I want to thank our crew who spend way too much time with me and not enough time with their kids. And I want to thank Showtime and FOX and my husband, my love, my balance (phonetic), and my crush. Thank you for making me so whole and happy so I can be so entirely unhappy in the land of make?believe. Thank you.
