Night Vale Presents Launching Official Welcome to Night Vale Recap Show

Podcast network Night Vale Presents is launching a talk show dedicated to the mega-popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale. Premiering June 7th, GOOD MORNING NIGHT VALE is hosted by cast members Meg Bashwiner, Symphony Sanders, and Hal Lublin. Each week, the hosts do a deep dive into one episode of Welcome to Night Vale, starting with the very first from 2012. Episodes will feature interviews with the cast and creators, revealing origin stories, behind-the-scenes trivia, and more never-before-heard information. Listeners are invited to share their thoughts, comments, and questions via e-mail or voicemail. Episodes will be released weekly.

Started in 2012 by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, Welcome to Night Vale quickly rose to the top of the podcast charts and has since been downloaded more than 217 million times. Starring Cecil Baldwin as Cecil Palmer, Welcome to Night Vale is set in a small desert town where all conspiracy theories are true. In the style of community updates, the show features local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. The New York Times says, "With its surreal premise, Welcome to Night Vale stands out in a medium dominated by nonfiction."

The success of Welcome to Night Vale has crossed all platforms. On tour, the live show has performed more than 300 shows in 16 countries and 35 U.S. states. Fink and Cranor have written two New York Times bestselling novels based on the show titled Welcome to Night Vale and It Devours! and have published two script collections. Additionally, FX will develop the podcast for television with BETTER CALL SAUL producer, Gennifer Hutchinson, as executive producer. Fink and Cranor will also serve as executive producers on the TV series.
