Variety has learned that NBC has given a six-episode order for a new dance competition series from the husband and wife team of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. Currently untitled, the show is described as "a fresh take on the unscripted dance competition genre." Dewan Tatum will serve as a judge and mentor on the series, while Channing Tatum will make appearances on the show. Both will serve as executive producers.

Dewan Tatum, who met her husband while filming the 2006 dance film "Step Up", began as a back up dancer for Janet Jackson, Pink, Missy Elliott and Christina Aguilera. She went on to nab a recurring role on FX's "American Horror Story" and a starring role on Lifetime's "Witches of East End." She can currently be seen in CBS's "Supergirl".

Channing Tatum also started his career as a dancer, appearing in a Ricky Martin music video. He went on to stardom in the "Magic Mike" film series.

The show will be up against stiff competition, with ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" now enjoying its 22nd Season, and FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" launching its 13th Season this summer.
