Netflix Acquires First Two Seasons of WORKIN' MOMS

Wolf + Rabbit Entertainment ULC confirmed today that Global streaming platform Netflix has acquired the first two seasons of their International Emmy®-nominated Canadian comedy series, WORKIN' MOMS. Commissioned by CBC in 2016, the series will launch as a Netflix original in all markets outside of Canada with season 1 (13 episodes) streaming on February 22. Season 2 will follow in the spring. Executive Producers are husband-wife duo Catherine Reitman and Philip Sternberg.

WORKIN' MOMS is a brash comedy that tests the modern ideal that women really can have it all. Created by and starring Reitman, maternity leave is over and it's time for these four moms to return to work while navigating kids, bosses, love and life in modern-day Toronto.

In Canada, the complete first and second seasons of the series are currently available for streaming on CBC Gem and Netflix Canada. Season 3, which premiered earlier this year in Canada only, airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT)on CBC and CBC Gem. Starting February 22, season 1 will be available to Netflix subscribers in the U.S. and rest of the world. Season 2 (13 episodes) will also be available globally on the streaming site in early spring 2019.

In 2016, Reitman and Sternberg formed WOLF + Rabbit Entertainment to produce the half-hour, single-camera comedy WORKIN' MOMS for CBC in Canada. That same year, the company received the Most Innovative Producer Award at the Banff World Media Festival. The series received five Canadian Screen Award nominations in 2017 including Best Actress, Comedy, for Reitman, and Best Series, Comedy. In 2018, the iEmmy's® nominated the series for Best Comedy, Worldwide.

Catherine Reitman

In addition to her role as the creator, executive producer, writer and star of the series, Reitman directed several episodes in each of the series' three seasons. As an actress, she is best known for her roles in ABC's hit show Blackish and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Reitman was a member of the Sunday Company at the influential Groundlings improv theatre and school in Los Angeles, CA and has had roles in other high-profile films and television series including How I Met Your Mother, Real Wedding Crashers, I Love You, Man, and Knocked Up.

Philip Sternberg

Sternberg is executive producer of WORKIN' MOMS and stars alongside Reitman. He's also directed six episodes of the series to-date. Prior to WOLF + Rabbit, he served as President of Candor Entertainment.

WORKIN' MOMS is distributed internationally by Coldsprings Media LLC and represented by Vanguard Artist Management and CAA. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager, Programming; Michelle Daly is Senior Director, Comedy; and Sandra Picheca is Executive in Charge of Production, Comedy.
