NBC's Stanley Cup Hockey Coverage Wins Thursday in Prelim Fast-Affil Ratings

NBC Sports coverage of Stanley Cup Finals hockey ranks #1 from 8-11 p.m. in adults 18-49 and as well as adults, men and women 18-34, men 18-49, women 18-49 (tie), adults 25-54 and men 25-54 (with upward adjustments likely in official nationals).

In metered-market results, which are time zone-adjusted, last night's NBC Sports 8:15-11 p.m. ET coverage of Stanley Cup Finals hockey, featuring the San Jose Sharks at the Pittsburgh Penguins, scored a 3.6 rating in household results from the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research.

The Sharks' Game 5 win on NBC is up +16% versus Game 4 on NBC Monday night in metered-market households (3.6 vs. 3.1) and up +33% versus Game 1 on NBC on Monday, May 30 (3.6 vs. 2.7).

The June 9 telecast of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" (3.6 rating, 9 share in metered-market households, 1.3/7 in adults 18-49 in the local people meters), with guests President Barack Obama and Madonna: Delivered the highest Thursday rating for a regularly scheduled "Tonight" in metered-market households in more than two years -- since Feb. 20, 2014 (5.3), during Jimmy Fallon's first week as "Tonight" host, a telecast that featured First Lady Michelle Obama as guest).

Equaled "Tonight's" highest metered-market household rating for a regularly scheduled telecast on any night of the week in more than two years since Monday March 17, 2014 (3.7), following "The Voice" and "The Blacklist" in primetime, with Fallon's guest James Spader (matching over that span the 3.6 of the Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 telecast with guest Donald Trump).

In 18-49 in the local people meters, equals "Tonight's" top rating for any night of the week since Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 (1.4), the night of "The Wiz Live!," with Fallon's guests Mindy Kaling and Daisy Ridley (equaling over that span the 1.3 for Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, the night of winter storm Jonas, with guests Jeff Daniels, Lilly Singh, and St. Lucia).

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.6/9; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.7/4; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.3/7; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).


At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
