NBC Universo to Present Weekend's Top Sports Action

NBC UNIVERSO, the modern sports and entertainment cable channel for Latinos, will showcase the hottest games and coolest athletes from the world of sports during its new signature sports show for Latinos, Escena Deportiva. The next telecast will air on Friday, May 29 beginning at 11 p.m. ET, and will include:

Interview with Brazilian star footballer Kaká

Soccer predictions for the upcoming weekend, including the Liga MX Finals and World Cup competition.
Former Mexican soccer player Carlos Hermosillo's expert soccer analysis.

Profile of Mexican-born Jockey Victor Espinoza, who is looking to ride Thoroughbred American Pharoah to a Triple Crown victory at The Belmont Stakes.

Discussion of the Copa del Rey Final BETWEEN Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona on Sat., May 30.
Preview of Major League Baseball action from around the League.

Friday's episode of Escena Deportiva will air in BETWEEN two live, Men's Under-20 World Cup first-round matches. The first game will feature New Zealand vs. Ukraine beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET. Then, immediately following the telecast of Escena Deportiva, the network will feature the USA vs. Myanmar match at 11:30 p.m. ET. This weekend, NBC UNIVERSO will also air Qatar vs. Colombia on Sat., May 30 at 8:30 p.m. ET; and on Sunday, Nigeria vs. Brazil at 8:30 p.m. ET, followed by Uzbekistan vs. Honduras at 11:30 p.m.

On Monday, June 1, Escena Deportiva will recap all of the action and storylines from the weekend. From week-to-week, the program will showcase a thrilling mix of sports action that is of interest to U.S. Hispanics from around the sports world, including but not limited to, the Premier League, Liga MX, FIFA World Cup™ events, NFL, MLB, the NBA and NASCAR; as well as highlight many of the world's top athletes during competition and away from their sports. The show, which is produced by NBC Deportes, will be co-hosted by Ana Jurka and Guadalupe "Guad" Venegas, and feature interactive segments on social media platforms to engage passionate Latino sports fans.
