NBC NIGHTLY NEWS Wins Across the Board for Week of 7/18

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT ranked #1 across the board for the week of July 18, averaging 7.6 million total viewers, outperforming "ABC World News Tonight" by +61,000 (+1%) and "CBS Evening News" by +1.47 million (+24%). The NBC broadcast has topped total viewers for four of the last six weeks and ranked #1 among A25-54 and A18-49 for 51 of the last 52 weeks.

In the demo, Nightly News averaged 1.9 million A25-54 viewers for the week of July 18, outperforming ABC by +243,000 (+15%) and CBS by +507,000 (+37%). Nightly News has led ABC by at least 200,000 A25-54 viewers for six consecutive weeks. Nightly News improved its demo lead over ABC by +16% from the week prior. The NBC broadcast averaged 1.32 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +108,000 (+9%) and CBS by +429,000 (+49%). Nightly News has ranked #1 in A25-54 and A18-49 for 51 of the past 52 weeks.

Holt anchored "NBC Nightly News" live from Cleveland during the Republican National Convention on Monday through Thursday. Additionally, he anchored NBC News's primetime coverage of the RNC. More Americans turned to NBC News for coverage of the 2016 Republican National Convention than any other broadcast television network. According to Nielsen Media Research data, NBC News's coverage of the 2016 RNC averaged 4.6 million viewers during its four nights of coverage (July 18 - 21), +47% more than ABC (3.1 million) and +53% over CBS (3 million). In the news demo, NBC averaged 1.7 million A54-54 viewers, leading ABC by +600,000 (+55%) and CBS by +786,000 (+86%).

Season to date, Nightly News is the #1 evening news program in total viewers, A25-54 and A18-49 viewers.
