Montclair Film Festival Presents JON STEWART IN CONVERSATION WITH STEPHEN COLBERT Tonight

By:

The Montclair Film Festival (MFF) previously announced a one-night-only live event: Jon Stewart IN CONVERSATION WITH Stephen Colbert tonight, December 7, 2012 (Doors: 7:00 PM, Show: 8:00 PM) at the Wellmont Theatre in downtown Montclair, NJ, with support from Audi and Investors Bank.

The event is a rare, live joint performance by Emmy® and Peabody® award-winner Jon Stewart, host, writer and executive producer of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” and Emmy® and Peabody® award-winner Stephen Colbert, host, writer and executive producer of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.”

"I can't wait to interview Jon and blow the lid off the fraud he's perpetrated on the American people.” said Colbert. “I just found out The Daily Show is fake news."

Tickets (priced at $175.00, $150.00, $110.00, $75.00 and $50.00) are available via The Wellmont's website. In addition, a limited number of $250 VIP tickets may be purchased through MFF. Proceeds from the event will support the non-profit Montclair Film Festival, set to return for its second run in May 2013.

“We’re thrilled to have Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert – two of America’s top social and comedic voices – donate their time and talent to support the Montclair Film Festival with a performance right here in Montclair,” said MFF Chairman Bob Feinberg. “Their commitment to this community-based, non-profit film festival is a great example for all of us who want to see the arts thrive in Montclair and the surrounding communities.

The performance, entitled “Jon Stewart in Conversation with Stephen Colbert” is a conversation between the two men, during which they will share anecdotes, insights and clips from “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report,” on the heels of the presidential election. This event is made possible, in part, through support from Audi and Investors Bank.

About The Montclair Film Festival:
The Montclair Film Festival (MFF) is a non-profit, tax-exempt (501(c)(3)) community-based organization that was founded to nurture and showcase the talents of filmmakers from around the world, while creating a cultural focal point for the Township of Montclair that unites, empowers, educates and celebrates our diverse heritage and robust artistic community.

Formed in early 2010, MFF produced its first film festival over six days in May 2012. MFF has also presented three summers of outdoor films; and several special sold-out screenings and live “Q&A’s” with filmmakers and talent. MFF is committed to providing educational opportunities for young filmmakers such as its “Kidz Shortz” youth filmmaking competition and “Behind the Screens,” a full day seminar for students on careers in filmmaking.

MFF is based in storefront headquarters at 494 Bloomfield Avenue, just two doors up from the Clairidge Theater, in the historic Hinck Building. For information about MFF, visit www. montclairfilmfest.org/.
