Lucy Liu Joins Cast of 'East Fifth Bliss' Film

According to published reports, actors Brie Larson and Lucy Liu will join Michael C. Hall as cast mates in the upcoming indie comedy "East Fifth Bliss."

Hall plays a guy in his mid-thirties who watches as his life comically unravels after he enters into a relationship with the daughter of a former high school classmate (played by Larson). Liu will play a neighbor who is unhappily married.

Michael Knowles directs the film which he helped adapt the script for with Douglas Light based off of Light's book of the same name. The novel received the 2007 Benjamin Franklin Award for Fiction.

The film will be produced by John Ramos and Knowles for 7A Prods., Susan Leber, and John Will for Torn Sky Entertainment. Filming is set to start in New York in April.

Knowles has also written and directed "One Night," which starred Melissa Leo.

Hall will return to the set of "Dexter" for its fifth season after finishing work on "east Fifth Bliss."
Larson is a co-star on Showtime's "The United States of Tara" and other films he's worked on include "Greenberg" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."

Emmy nominee Lucy Liu will make her Broadway debut as Annette in the Tony Award-winning Best Play GOD OF CARNAGE on March 2 alongside Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, and Janet McTeer.

After receiving rave reviews in London, GOD OF CARNAGE opened on Broadway March 22, 2009 to unanimous praise.

GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.

Liu's film credits include "Kill Bill: Vol. 1," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Charlie's Angels, Chicago," "Kung Foo Panda," and "Shanghai Noon."

Liu received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress ina Comedy Series and an SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensebmle in a Comedy Series for her work on "Ally McBeal." Other TV credits include "Ugly Better" and "NYPD Blue."
