Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg have a new partner for their next film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Linda Cardellini has signed on to join the pair in the upcoming comedy DADDY'S HOME, with Paramount on board to distribute. Sean Anders will direct. The latest version of the film's script was drafted by Brian Burns, and features revisions by Anders, John Morris, Etan Cohen and others.

The film follows "a mild-mannered radio executive (Ferrell) looking to become the best stepdad to his wife's two children just as their freewheeling and freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives on the scene."

Cardellini will play the wife of Ferrell's character.

Cardellini has recently appeared on Fox's NEW GIRL, as well as AMC's MAD MEN. In the past, she starred in Judd Apatow's cult-hit comedy FREAKS AND GEEKS, as well as ER. She can next be seen in Netflix's impending psychological thriller from the creator of DAMAGES, titled BLOODLINES.

Beginning his career as a member of The Groundlings improv group in Los Angeles, Ferrell was invited to audition for "Saturday Night Live's" executive producer Lorne Michaels. In 1995 he joined the cast and has since become recognized for some of the show's most memorable impersonations including Chicago Cubs announcer Harry Caray, singer Robert Goulet, "Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek and U.S. Vice President Al Gore. Following his departure, Ferrell went on to create and star in a long line of comedy blockbusters from the past ten years including "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," "Step Brothers," and the animated feature hit "Megamind." Additionally, in 2007 Ferrell launched the user-generated website Funny or Die into the cultural zeitgeist which produces and features celebrity and comedian-driven video content.

He has also starred in the Tony Award-nominated Broadway play "You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush" and in 2011, was selected as the recipient of the Mark TwainPrize for American Humor. Later this year, fans can look forward to Ferrell as he reprises his much-anticipated role in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."
