Letterman has cancelled the appearance of Bill Cosby, who was supposed to be a guest on the CBS show on Nov. 19.

The cancellation is due to the rising number of sexual assault accusations against the television star from decades ago. CBS did not indicate whether Cosby withdrew from the show or was uninvited. "We can't comment on the booking process," said Letterman spokeswoman, Kim Izzo-Emmet.

According to the show's website, Regis Philbin will be appearing on the show instead.

This announcement comes on the heels of the cancellation of his appearance on Queen Latifah's talk show, from which Cosby reportedly withrdrew. Cosby did, however, visit Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon in September and August, respectively.

In addition, he was recently a guest on NPR's Morning Edition, in which reporter Scott Simon asked him about these rape allegations, and Cosby shook his head in silence.

"This question gives me no pleasure, Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days," said Simon. "You're shaking your head no."

"I'm in the news business," Simon tried again. "I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges?" He said that Cosby shook his head once more.

"There are people who love you who might like to hear from you about this," Simon again said. "I want to give you the chance." He then ended the interview with "Alright."
