Lauren Pritchard to Sing on THE TONIGHT SHOW, 10/25

Universal Republic recording artist Lauren Pritchard will appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" next Monday, October 25th, coinciding with the digital release of her debut album, Wasted in Jackson. The 22-year-old will perform the album's lead single, "Not The Drinking." Wasted in Jackson will be released physically in the U.S. on February 22, 2011.

Pritchard was handpicked by Duncan Sheik for the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening. She spent two years in the Tony-winning musical before leaving to work on her own music. She recorded Wasted in Jackson with producer/Ivor Novello-winning songwriter Eg White (Duffy, Adele) in London, where early reviews have been stellar.

Wasted in Jackson was award four stars by both Q Magazine, which called it a "winning debut," and MOJO, which hailed it as the "delectable debut by a young UK-based Tennessee soul siren." London's Sunday Times praised Pritchard's "beautiful, soaring voice and a set of songs that roll and swell with Carole King and Norah Jones-like country-soul catchiness" while ELLE (UK) called her "one of the most remarkable voices you'll hear all year-think 1970 country-soul artists...Wasted In Jackson is sure to have a place on the Best of 2010 lists."

"Not the Drinking" is already on BBC Radio 2's "A List" alongside hits by such artists as Elton John and Leon Russell, James Blunt and Jamiroquai. Numerous other tracks from Wasted in Jackson are also garnering attention. Justine urged readers to download the retro-soul "Stuck" and Pitchfork.com gave the Various Production remix of the song a "7." "It's her sexy, ragged voice versus a hip-hop beat, and it's not a fair fight," said Marie Claire (US) of "Painkillers," which features The Roots' ?uestLove on drums. "Pritchard's showstopper pipes fill your head as the track works itself into a racy R&B hit." "Painkillers" was Q Magazine's "Track of the Day" and brought Roni Size out of a five-year hiatus to do a remix of the track.

Pritchard, who recently appeared on "The Alan Titchmarsh Show," a popular U.K. television program, has played the Glastonbury and Latitude festivals and she opened for Florence and The Machine at the iTunes Festival
