The Hollywood Reporter writes that Oscar nominee Laura Dern is in talks to join BIRDMAN's Michael Keaton in THE FOUNDER, which tells the story of McDonald's and how the company grew into a fast food giant.

THE FOUNDER, helmed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegel, chronicles "how Ray Kroc (Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire."

Dern will play 'Ethel Kroc', Kroc's first, neglected wife, who sees him through the beginning of his business schemes.

The actress was nominated for an Academy Award for last year's WILD and will soon appear in the film MOTHERS DAY. Among Dern's other recent credits are BRAVETOWN, 99 HOMES, WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS and THE MASTER. She has also appeared in the TV series THE MINDY PROJECT, ENLIGHTENED and more.

THE FOUNDER will hit theaters on November 25, 2016.
