PEOPLE is reporting that recent Broadway "babe" Katie Holmes will put on her dancing shoes for FOX's So You Think You Can Dance this season. The show's producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed the news to PEOPLE saying, "It's about a charity, I do not have the status." Lythgoe is rumored to be directing Holmes in choreography by Tyce Diorio.

Lythgoe wouldn't reveal anything more about Holmes appearance, she is rumored to be dancing in a tribute to Judy Garland's "Get Happy" from Summer Stock. To read the full scoop on PEOPLE.com, click here.

Katie Holmes enjoyed the success of her Broadway debut in All My Sons and proved skeptics wrong by handling the pressures of performing on the Great White Way with passion and ease, proving she was a natural for the New York stage.

A workshop musical reading of a stage adaptation of the film Finding Neverland took place back in December 2008, directed by Rob Ashford and featuring a cast that included Kate Baldwin, Christian Borle, Brian D'Addario, Michael D'addario, Blythe Danner, Erin Davie, Dalton Harrod, Tom Hewitt, Marc Kudisch, Daniel Marconi, Anne L. Nathan, Denis O'Hare, Brynn O'Malley, Clarke Thorell, Jon Patrick Walker and Wayne Wilcox. Katie Holmes took part in the reading and has spoken of her wish to do a musical in the future.

Katie Holmes made her debut in Ang Lee's acclaimed film The Ice Storm, which led to her role in the popular television series "Dawson's Creek." Her other film credits include Disturbing Behavior, Go, Wonder Boys with Michael Douglas, Abandon, Pieces of April, The Singing Detective with Robert Downey Jr., First Daughter with Michael Keaton, Thank You for Smoking, Batman Begins, and Mad Money.
