Kal Penn to Moderate Nat Geo Channel's Comic Con Panel

National Geographic Channel (NGC) today announced that Kal Penn will moderate the network's Comic-Con International: San Diego Panel, Game Your Brain to Superhero Status. Penn is host of NGC's new series Mapology, slated for 2015. The panel will highlight NGC's smartertainment programming including returning series Brain Games and new series Going Deep with David Rees and You Can't Lick Your Elbow.

Game Your Brain to Superhero Status will feature Tony Gonzalez (CBS Sports' "THE NFL TODAY" analyst, You Can't Lick Your Elbow), Dr. Armand Dorian (ER physician, You Can't Lick Your Elbow), David Rees (Going Deep with David Rees) and Eric LeClerc (illusionist, Brain Games). Together, the panelists will take attendees through a series of interactive experiments that will mess with your mind and show you that what may seem superhuman is actually within your reach. The panel will take place Friday, July 25, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center, Room 24ABC.

"Who wouldn't want to learn how to hack your way to becoming superhuman? Having Kal, Tony, David and Eric all on one the panel will no doubt make for a mind-blowing experience. Comic-Con is the perfect audience to present our fun and interactive slate of smart programming," said Heather Moran, EVP, content at National Geographic Channel. "Our panel demonstrates our commitment to developing lean-in programming that is accessible and entertaining."

Following the panel, Comic-Con attendees are invited to let their inner geek shine as NGC hosts Nerd Nite San Diego. The special Comic-Con edition of the monthly, nationwide event held in more than 75 cities across the globe will include nerdy presentations from David Rees of Going Deep with David Rees, Aaron Sagers of Paranormal Pop Culture and professor Ron Broglio, field marshal of the Animal Revolution. The event will take place Friday, July 25, at SILO in Makers Quarter with trivia beginning at 7:30 p.m. and presentations at 8:30 p.m.
