John Krasinski to Direct, Star in THE HOLLARS with Anna Kendrick and More

Deadline reports that John Krasinski (The Office) will be directing his second feature film - THE HOLLARS, in which he will also star. James C. Strouse wrote the script.

Krasinksi will be joined by Anna Kendrick, Richard Jenkins and Margo Martindale in the cast.

THE HOLLARS centers on John Hollar (Krasinski), an artist living in New York City who travels with his girlfriend (Kendrick) back to the Midwest to support his family during his mother's (Martindale) brain surgery. Jenkins will play John's father.

Kendrick's upcoming projects include the film adaptations of the musicals The Last 5 Years and Into the Woods, as well as Pitch Perfect 2, Digging for Fire and Mr. Right. Her past movie credits include 50/50, Up in the Air and the Twilight series.

Jenkins will next be seen in 4 Minute Mile, Lullaby and Bone Tomahawk, as well as the TV mini-series Olive Kitteridge. His recent films include Jack Reacher, The Cabin in the Woods, The Rum Diary, Let Me In, Eat Pray Love and more.

Martindale's most recent films are Heaven Is for Real and August: Osage County. She currently stars on the TV series The Americans and The Millers, and she also appeared on Broadway in 2003's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Krasinski's first project as director was 2009's Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. The actor will next lend his voice to The Prophet and recently voiced the part of 'Honjo' in Miyazaki's The Wind Rises, as well as 'Frank McCay' in Monsters University. He is best known for playing 'Jim Halpert' on NBC's long-running comedy series The Office. Among his other film credits are Promised Land, Big Miracle, Nobody Walks, The Muppets, Something Borrowed, It's Complicated and more.
