Jenna Dewan Leaves WORLD OF DANCE

Jenna Dewan announced on her Instagram that she is leaving "World of Dance."

Dewan served as the host and a mentor on the show during its first two seasons. She wrote on her post that even though she's leaving as the host, "won't be able to stay away for long, and plan to return to mentor contestants as much as possible." See the Instagram post below!

Dewan will be starring in the upcoming Netflix show, "Mixtape," which was originally a FOX pilot. The series is described as a romantic musical drama that looks at the love stories connecting a diverse, disparate group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that lives inside their hearts and minds. She also has a recurring role on the FOX medical drama "The Resident" during its second season.

NBC's hit dance competition series "World of Dance" is led by a judging team of extraordinary dance superstars - Jennifer LOPEZ (who also serves as an executive producer), Derek Hough, NE-YO and host/mentor Jenna Dewan.

The 16-episode series from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Nuyorican Productions will give dancers the platform to showcase their talents and the opportunity to receive a life-altering grand prize of $1 million.

In partnership with preeminent global dance brand World of Dance, the series brings the world's elite dancers together to compete in epic battles of artistry, precision and athleticism. Solo dancers will compete against duos and crews in an unlimited range of dance, including hip-hop, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, stomping and more.

Hi to my WORLD OF DANCE lovers! I have some news to share: I will not be returning to the show as host for season 3. But! I won't be able to stay away for long, and plan to return to mentor contestants as much as possible ?? It has been an absolute thrill to be a part of this incredible, groundbreaking show from the very beginning, and I am forever grateful to my @nbc family, @jlo, @derekhough @neyo and everyone involved in this journey?? We are changing the dance world and giving opportunities to dancers in ways I've only dreamed of! Can't wait to share more news with you soon. Much love to everyone ????
