Jazzy New AMERICAN HORROR STORY: Inside The Coven Promo

A jazzy new promotional featurette for FX's hit horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN has arrived, focusing on the central city of the season, New Orleans.

"I think New Orleans is the perfect city to set for the back-story for this year's AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN because it is so rich and ripe with culture that is still alive and thriving - maybe it has gone a little underground, but it is still a great part of the culture," Season Three star addition Angela Bassett says.

Additionally, returning cast member Denis O'Hare observes of the moody atmosphere evoked by the city, "I think the heat and the humidity and the sort of slow, stately pace of it add to a kind of frayed elegance."

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN centers on a modern-day witch academy in New Orleans, featuring returning series star Jessica Lange and new addition Kathy Bates alongside Season Three featured players Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O'Hare, Patti LuPone, Evans Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe and Emma Roberts.

The official description of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN is as follows: ""Coven" tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are Being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way."

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN airs Wednesdays at 10 PM FX.
