Hunter Parrish Cast in New Film 'PAPER MAN'

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Spring Awakening star Hunter Parrish has joined the cast of Michelle and Kieran Mulroney's  new film"Paper Man."

The film is described as ‘the coming-of-middle-age comedy chronicles the unlikely friendship between a failed author (Jeff Daniels) and a Long Island high school girl (Emma Stone) who teaches him about growing up, all under the disapproving eye of his long-suffering wife and imaginary superhero friend."

Parrish will play the girl's 18-year-old working-class boyfriend. The cast also includes Ryan Reynolds and Lisa Kudrow.

Producing are FilmColony's Richard Gladstein; Guymon Casady of Film 360, the film production arm of Management 360; and Artfire's Art Spigel and Ara Katz. Production began last week in New York.
Hunter Parrish joined Broadway's groundbreaking musical hit in the central role of Melchior, the brilliant young radical, on August 18.  

This past summer he was featured in Vanity Fair's  cover feature "Hollywood's New Wave-The Hottest Kids in Hollywood spread.

Hunter can currently be seen as Silas, the rabble-rousing older son of Mary-Louise Parker on the highly acclaimed Showtime series WEEDS. The show's 4th season premiered last summer to positive reviews. 

Moviegoers can next see Parrish on the big screen in  "17 Again" opposite Zac Efron and Matthew Perry. Other screen roles  include "Freedom Writers" with Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey, and Barry Sonnefeld's comedy "RV" playing the son of Jeff Daniels and Kristen Chenoweth.

Spring Awakening features the music of Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater. Choreography is by Bill T. Jones and it is directed by Michael Mayer.  It is the recipient of 8 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Grammy Award.

Spring Awakening's performance schedule is as follows: Tuesday & Sunday at 7 pm, Wednesday-Saturday at 8 pm, Matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. For information and tickets, call Telecharge.com at 212 239-6200. The musical is playing at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, 230 West 49th Street.
