Deadline reports that Hiroyuki Sanada will have a major recurring role in season 2 of the HBO sci-fi western WESTWORLD. Sanada will take on the character Musashi, but the only aspect revealed about the character is his name.

Based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie, WESTWORLD follows the dark path of artificial intelligence at a western themed amusement park. The show garnered 22 Emmy nominations this year, including one for Outstanding Drama Series.

Sanada is not the only new cast member for season 2. Neil Jackson, Jonathan Tucker, Katja Herbers, Talulah Riley and Louis Herthum will join him.

Sanada is about to film AVENGERS:INFINITY where he will have a supporting role. The Japanese actor just finished filming THE CATCHER WAS A SPY, where he starred opposite Paul Rudd. The movie debuted at the Toronto Film Festival.
