Geoffrey Owens to Guest Star on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS

Geoffrey Owens will guest star on an episode of NCIS: New Orleans, according to Variety.

Owens will appear in the sixth episode of the season, playing Commander Adams , which is set to air in late October. In the episode, Pride (Scott Bakula) is still emotionally reeling following his brush with death in the season finale/season premiere. He consults with his friend Commander Adams on what could be causing his current symptoms and what his next course of action should be.

Speaking on the casting executive producer Christopher Silber said, "For Commander Adams, we needed someone with compassion, competence and heart. That's Geoffrey in a nutshell. An accomplished actor who seemed like the perfect fit to add to our extended repertory company. We're lucky to have him on the show."

Owens, who used to star on "The Cosby Show," was in the news recently after he was photographed working at a Trader Joe's. The internet job-shamed Owens, which led to major news outlets picking up the story, and many actors sending Owens support. He appeared on "Good Morning America" in a televised interview, where he said, "Every job is worthwhile and valuable, and if we have a rethinking about that because of what has happened to me, that would be great."

This is the latest role Owens has received since the story broke. Tyler Perry offered Owens a recurring role on the OWN series "The Haves and the Have Nots."

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS is a drama about the local field office that investigates criminal cases involving military personnel in The Big Easy, a city known for its music, entertainment and decadence.
