E! News has confirmed that Ed Helms is currently in talks to star in a reboot of National Lampoon's VACATION from New Line Media. The actor would portray 'Rusty Griswold', a role played by Anthony Michael Hall in the original film.

Earlier this year, Helms had denied rumors that he would take part in the remake, telling Moviefone, "I have no idea how and where those rumors got started. I'm not aware of any conversations about me doing that movie."

According to the report, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses) will pen the script and direct the film. David Dobkin is set to produce. No word as to whether Chevy Chase will reprise his role as patriarcH Clark Griswold in the reboot.

Helms is best known for his role as Andy Bernard on the sitcom/mockumentary The Office on NBC and for his role as Dr. Stu Price in The Hangover films.
