Production on the third installment of THE MAZE RUNNER series has been halted after its star, Dylan O'Brien, suffered an on-set injury, according to TVLine. O'Brien was taken to a hospital in Vancouver after the incident. As of now, there's no official word as to the extent of his injuries, though TMZ reports he was run over by a vehicle and suffered "multiple broken bones."

20th Century FOX released the following statement after the news initially broke: "Dylan O'Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery."

In the second chapter of the epic "Maze Runner" saga, titled THE SCORCH TRIALS, Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD's vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.

The film stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito, Aidan Gillen, Barry Pepper, Lili Taylor, and Patricia Clarkson

O'Brien recently starred in THE MAZE RUNNER, and will seen in the film's sequel, 'THE SCORCH TRIALS,' later this year. His other credits include THE INTERNSHIP and a guest starring role on Fox's Zooey Deschanel-led comedy NEW GIRL.
