The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reports that producer David Ian is hoping to bring hit film The Bodyguard which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and featured I Will Always Love You, one of the best-selling singles in music history, to the musical stage.

Ian has been negotiating the stage rights from Costner, a producer of the film as well as its star, and Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote it reports Bamigboye.

The Bodyguard featured Kevin Costner as a former Secret Service agent who becomes the bodyguard to a famous pop singer, played in the film by Whitney Houston.

The plan reveals The Mail is to use the film's famous soundtrack in regards to a score for the production.

In addition to the megahit I Will Always Love You,  the songs include I'm Every Woman, Run To You, Jesus Loves Me and Queen Of The Night. They were the songs sung by Houston's pop star diva character, Rachel Marron.

The hope, reports Baz Bamigboye, is for the musical of The Bodyguard to open in London in 2012. To read the full article click here.
