Big things happened this week on DANCING WITH THE STARS. The theme for this Monday's episode was "My Most Memorable Year." That meant different things for different contestants, and I was intrigued by the song choices and the reasons behind them.

Also, in addition to the regular judges' scores and votes from viewers' phone calls, a new way to keep your favorite contestants on the show debuted. With Len Goodman still out of his judging chair, the audience was able to step in. During tonight's show, viewers were be able to log in to ABC.com and send in their own numbered scores 1-10. The cumulative average of all of the audience scores served as the fourth judge's score.
.
This will also be the last week that fans can vote for which couples they want to "Switch-Up." To vote, visit ABC.com to pick the pairs you want as partners, and the site will generate the hashtag you'll need to use on Twitter to vote.

Without further ado, here were this week's performances!

Janel and Val
Song: "How Will I Know"
Style of Dance: Jive
Viewers' score: 9
Judges' scores: 36/40
My 5-second review: Absolutely gorgeous. Such a lovely tribute.

Janel's most memorable year was 2002 when she left her family and friends in Hawaii for her chance at stardom in LA. Leaving her mentor and vocal coach BJ was incredibly hard on her, but she was able to get through it. Janel's tribute to her late vocal coach was very touching and no doubt helped her connect to the dance emotionally. It was wonderfully done.

Jonathan and Allison
Song: "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Milkshake"
Style of Dance: Samba
Viewers' score: 6
Judges' scores: 24/40
My 5-second review: That performance was so FETCH! (Yes. That was a MEAN GIRLS reference.)

Was this Jonathan's best dance? Not at all. However, he was able to channel Aaron Samuels quite well in his performance. The "Jingle Bell Rock" intro was a very clever attention grabber. I just hope it was enough to save him next week.

Betsey and Tony
Song: "Love Will Keep Us Together"
Style of Dance: Jive
Viewers' score: 7
Judges' scores: 29/40
My 5-second review: Another wonderful performance from Betsey and Tony.

When Betsey first started the show, I thought she was going to be this wild and unpredictable spitfire. We're four weeks into this competition now, and I was right but not the way I thought I would be. Her abilities always keep me on my toes. Her dance dedicated to her daughter was another fabulous one.

Bethany and Derek
Song: "Try" (performed live by the beautifully talented Colbie Caillat)
Style of Dance: Rumba
Viewers' score: 9
Judges' scores: 33/40
My 5-second review: Heartbreakingly beautiful. I'm stunned by this truly moving performance.

This performance hits home, I won't lie. It took everything in me not to burst into tears. Bethany started her YouTube channel in 2009 because she was bullied. Seeing how far she has come and her ability to overcome everything was powerfully portrayed in her dance with Derek tonight. One of my favorite dances not just of season 19, but of all DWTS history.

Michael and Emma
Song: "Giving it Up for Your Love"
Style of Dance: Quickstep
Viewers' score: 7
Judges' scores: 25/40
My 5-second review: This was so much fun! I'm glad Michael was able to do this for his mentor.

I usually see Michael as a fun-loving race car driver, so seeing him so emotional while discussing his late mentor really made me feel for him. I loved that he was able to push through his pain to perform such a fun song in honor of his friend.

Lea and Artem
Song: "Dance With My Father"
Style of Dance: Contemporary
Viewers' score: 9
Judges' scores: 39/40
My 5-second review: Another breathtaking performance from Lea and Artem. Exceptionally done.

Absolutely stunning. That's all I can really muster up to be honest. Lea's tribute to her father was so genuine and beautifully done. I was flabbergasted when she did not receive a perfect score, because she more than earned it.

Antonio and Cheryl
Song: Love Will Never Do (Without You)"
Style of Dance: Samba
Viewers' score: 8
Judges' scores: 29/40
My 5-second review: Antonio has come so far in this competition. Great job!

Did anyone else know Antonio was in a Janet Jackson music video? I didn't't. Regardless, he and Cheryl are doing a bang-up job every week, and this one is no exception. I still think he has a lot of things to learn, so I hope he is able to stick around long enough to learn them.

Tommy and Peta
Song: "Jailhouse Rock"
Style of Dance: Jive
Viewers' score: 7
Judges' scores: 28/40
My 5-second review: He messed up a bit, but that didn't stop me from loving it, especially with one of my favorite songs ever.

Yes, there were multiple slip-ups, but they didn't't really register with me because not only was the performance top-notch, but the song is one of the most played on my iPod so I was totally into the whole thing. Plus, sometimes I think Tommy is just so darn charismatic that I wonder if he'll win the whole competition just on that alone.

Sadie and Mark
Song: "Hunter"
Style of Dance: Samba
Viewers' score: 9
Judges' scores: 37/40
My 5-second review: That was bizarre...entertaining and well done, but odd.

I thought the concept of the choreography on this dance was spectacularly well planned out. The execution was brilliant and I felt like this was Sadie "coming of age" dance. It made me feel like she is now a real contender in this competition. Props to Mark on the exceptional choreography.

Alfonso and Witney
Song "It's Not Unusual"
Style of Dance: Jazz
Viewers' score: 10
Judges' scores: 40/40
My 5-second review: YES YES YES YES!!!

This dance was what America has been waiting for. Not only was it everything I hoped it would be and more, but this was Alfonso's first perfect score of the competition. I'm so ecstatic about this dance, all of his previous dances, and for what's to come.

Throughout the night, we learned that Betsey & Tony, Tommy & Peta, and Michael & Emma were in jeopardy. After Tommy & Peta were pronounced safe, the fourth week of the competition left Betsey and Tony as the couple eliminated. I'm really upset about this because Betsey showed so much growth every week. I would have loved to see what she came up with as the weeks progressed. What did you all think about this week's performances? Were you shocked about the elimination? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!

Next week we find out who America voted to "Switch Up," so be sure to watch DANCING WITH THE STARS Monday at 8/7c on ABC. And as always, check back here for my updates as they happen LIVE! Until next week!
