Coldplay to Debut First Single from New Album on 2015 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS; Stefani Joins Line-Up
dick clark productions and ABC announced today that Coldplay, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Gwen Stefani will perform at the "2015 American Music Awards," the world's biggest fan-voted award show. Coldplay's appearance will mark the U.S. television debut of the first single, "Adventure Of A Lifetime," from their new album A Head Full of Dreams (out Dec 4); Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will premiere a new song for the first time ever on television; and Gwen Stefani will perform her hit song "Used to Love You." They join previously announced host and performer Jennifer Lopez, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, One Direction, Carrie Underwood, WALK THE MOON; duets from Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, and Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town; and the legendary Star Wars score to be performed by pop super group Pentatonix and a full symphony orchestra. The "2015 American Music Awards" will broadcast live on Sunday, November 22 at 8:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
Coldplay is a six-time American Music Award nominee in the categories of Alternative Artist (2003, 2005 and 2008), Favorite Pop/Rock Album (2008), Favorite Pop Rock Group (2008) and Artist of the Year (2008). This will be the band's second AMA performance after last performing "Lovers in Japan" in 2008. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, six-time American Music Award nominees, took home the titles of Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album in 2013. Also in 2013, they were nominated for New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl's, Single of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Group and Artist of the Year. They performed their hit song "Can't Hold Us" via satellite at the "2013 American Music Awards." Gwen Stefani won Favorite Pop/Rock female in 2005 and was also nominated for the T-Mobile Text-In Award that year. Stefani was nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist as part of No Doubt in 1997. The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. There are three key voting windows:
