CBS's SURVIVOR & BIG BROTHER Sweep Wednesday in Key Demos

CBS's night of reality programming - with the season premiere of SURVIVOR and the season finale of BIG BROTHER - led CBS to a nightly win in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, with both reality series posting year-to-year growth with their best demo deliveries in years, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 24.

From 8:00-9:30 PM, SURVIVOR (P) was tied for first with ABC in both adults 25-54 (3.4/10) and adults 18-49 (2.7/09) and second in viewers (9.65m). This was SURVIVIOR's best premiere in adults 18-49 since Sept. 19, 2012. Compared to last fall's premiere, SURVIVOR was up +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.6/08). CBS Research projects SURVIVOR to gain an additional +34% in adults 18-49 to a 3.6 and +20% in viewers with 7-day viewing is included.

On CBS.com, SURVIVOR experienced its highest premiere day traffic ever, up double-digits over last year.

From 9:30-11:00 PM, the finale of BIG BROTHER was first in adults 25-54 (2.9/08), adults 18-49 (2.6/08) and adults 18-34 (2.0/07), while averaging 6.98m viewers. Compared to last year's season finale (on Sept. 18), BIG BROTHER was up +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/07), +11% in adults 18-34 (from 1.8/06), even in adults 25-54 and added +270,000 viewers (from 6.71m, +4%). This was BIG BROTHER's highest-rated finale in adults 18-49 since 2011.

For the night, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (3.1/09), adults 18-49 (2.6/08), adults 18-34 (1.8/07) and was second in viewers (8.32m).
